Privacy Policy

Who we are

DFK for Safe Food Environment (“us”, “we”, or “our”) is owned by Dima Faour-Klingbeil and operates https://dfkfoodsafety.com (the “Site”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.

DFK for Safe Food Environment has created this document to demonstrate its commitment to data privacy and its alignment to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and, in substitution from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (“GDPR”) in respect of handling and processing personal data. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

DFK for Safe Food Environment maintains a marketing database that contains the basic details of individuals who have consented to DFK for Safe Food Environment sending information about qualifications, events or services to them, via email.

While using our Site, the contact forms or signing to our newsletter, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name (“Personal Information”).

Personal data may be included in the data you provide about participants for one of our training or workshops or clients such as, names, email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses, billing information (for clients). By adding individuals’ personal data to DFK for Safe Food Environment system (email, website), or by sending personal data via email or by other methods to DFK for Safe Food Environment, you give consent to us processing the data and you confirm that you have obtained the appropriate consent from the relevant individuals for the personal data to be processed by DFK for Safe Food Environment.

We also collect contact personal to use for the purpose of training applications. Once the application has been successful this data will be held securely on our systems to deliver future services such as certificate re-prints and the confirmation of awards.

Information processed as part of a trainee’s qualification, such as physical exam papers, will be held for a maximum of 12 months.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

DFK for Safe Food Environment will never distribute, lease, sell or share personal data that is held on our system with any third parties.

We may share personal data to send you promotional information about third parties that DFK for Safe Food Environment is jointly working, partnering, collaborating and/or affiliated with.

We will also share personal data for clients taking Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or / and Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance examinations and certifications. For this, we need to provide your name, title, email, address, date of birth and a form of ID, which is required as part of the examination procedure, or for the purpose of training evaluation, reviews, issuing certification upon successful completion of training, and to comply with the internal regulation and requirements.

How long we retain your data

Clients personal data will be retained in our system for the duration of the contract or for as long as we need it, and until clients opt out of our services or of receiving further mails and services.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
